Sculpture
Paper and tulle as pliable plane, saturated with acrylic medium, embedded bits of nature, thread, pigment and glass microspheres respond, bend, wrap and curve. Architectural copper salvage is reconfigured into undulations and growing forms. Some forms may rest in conversational style against a wall or hang totemic-ally. Others singularly make their way from grounded supports, allowing gravity to transform their structure, changing direction, looping in möbius configurations.
My work is meant to respond to the environment it is shown in. Pieces change, integrate and combine within each new venue. These arabesques sing like a figure dancing in space, as a sail responding to breeze, as a branch twining upward toward light.
